GSAC Releases First Weekly Honor Roll Of 2004-2005 Season
Demorest, GA - The Great South Athletic Conference has released
its initial weekly honor roll of the 2004-2005 season with Maryville's
Karen Tobias named the volleyball Player of
the Week while Maryville's Justin Timmerman and Piedmont's
Lauren Fritsch were named the men's and women's soccer
Players of the Week respectively.
Tobias made her mark on the NCAA records book as she set the new all-time,
all-divisions record for career digs in the Lady Scots 3-2 loss to #22
Southwestern. She was named to the All-Tournament team after averaging
8.94 digs per game in the Lady Scots first five contests.
Timmerman recorded a goal in each of the Scots' first three games as
Maryville opened the season with a win over Shorter and a split at the
North Carolina Wesleyan Tournament.
Fritsch tallied 30 saves and one shutout in goal for Piedmont as the
Lady Lions defeated region-foe Guilford 1-0 and lost to Sewanee 2-0.
The Great South Athletic Conference is an athletic affiliation of seven
NCAA Division-III member institutions in Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee.
