GSAC Releases First 2005-06 Basketball Honor Roll
LaGrange, Ga. - The Great South Athletic Conference has released its first 2005-06 basketball honor roll for the week ending Nov. 20. Piedmont's Kayla Duncan took the women's honors, while Maryville's Bo Mason was the men's player of the week.
Duncan, a freshman forward, helped lead the Lady Lions to a 2-0 record at the Piedmont College Tip-Off Classic. She scored 35 points in the two games, including 20 in an 82-79 overtime win against Greensboro. She shot 55 percent from the floor, made 11 of 12 free throws and pulled down 12 rebounds in the two games.
Mason, a sophomore point guard, scored 45 points in leading the Fighting Scots to a 2-0 record at the Southern Tip-Off Classic. Mason scored a game-high 25 points in Maryville's 89-81 win over Oglethorpe. He had 10 assists and hit 8-of-17 three-point shots in the two games.
