GSAC honors Jones, Golden in basketball honor roll
LaGrange, Ga. - The Great South Athletic Conference has released its basketball honor roll for the week ending Dec. 11. LaGrange's Whitney Jones and Maryville's Bobby Golden were selected.
Jones, a sophomore post player, recorded back-to-back double-doubles against Agnes Scott and Oglethorpe. She had 10 points and 18 rebounds against Agnes Scott and 10 points and 14 rebounds against Oglethorpe. The 18 rebounds against Agnes Scott tied the school record.
Golden, a junior center, led the unbeaten Fighting Scots to two wins over King and Transylvania. He scored 17 points in each game, shooting 56 percent from the floor. Golden also pulled down 15 rebounds in the two games.
The Great South Athletic Conference is an athletic affiliation of eight NCAA Division-III member institutions in Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee.
