Basketball honor roll names Taylor, Mason and Jackson
LaGrange, Ga. - The Great South Athletic Conference has released its basketball honor roll for the weeks ending Jan. 1 and 8. LaGrange's LaTessa Taylor was the women's player for the week ending Jan. 8. Maryville's Bo Mason was the men's player of the week for the week ending Jan. 8. LaGrange's Corie Jackson took the honor for the week ending Jan. 1.
Taylor, a junior guard, averaged 14.3 points and 8.0 rebounds per game for the Panthers in three games. She had a game-high 19 points against Maryville. Taylor recorded her first double-double of the season with 19 points and 11 rebounds against Fisk. She also had a game-high eight assists against Fisk.
Mason, sophomore guard, averaged 11.7 points and 8.3 assists in three games. He had a game-high 22 points against Huntingdon, hitting 6-of-8 three-pointers. Mason was a perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line for the week.
Jackson, a senior guard, scored 20 points in back-to-back games against Anderson (Ind.) and Webster for the week ending Jan. 1. He hit 6-of-7 three-pointers against Anderson. Jackson is averaging 10.6 points per game for the Panthers.
