Women's basketball players of the week announced
The GSAC announced its women's basketball player of the week for the weeks ending Nov. 19 and Nov. 26. Maryville College's Beth Reed and Summer Dalton were recognized for their play.
Reed was the player of the week for the week ending Nov. 19. She was named the Most Valuable Player at the Subway Invitational in Virginia Beach, Va. Reed had 35 points, 13 assists and 10 steals in two games. In a 83-69 win over host Virginia Wesleyan in the championship game, Reed scored 29 points. She was 10-for-11 from the field and 5-for-6 from beyond the 3-point line.
Dalton was the player of the week for the week ending Nov. 26. She scored 36 points in wins over Centre College and Oglethorpe University. Dalton hit 8-of-12 three pointers in the games, while shooting 68 percent from the floor. She added 14 rebounds, four assists and steals.
