Spelman's Covington named women's basketball player of the week
Spelman sophomore guard Ashley Covington is the GSAC Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 28.

Covington led the Jaguars to two wins last week. She had a total of 50 points, shot 50 percent from the floor and was a perfect 4-for-4 at the free throw line. Covington was 8-for-15 from three point range. She had a season-high 27 points in a win over Fisk.

Covington leads the Jaguars with a 14.8 points per game average. She is third in scoring and second in three-point shots made in the GSAC.
