LaGrange's Britsky resigns as women's basketball and volleyball coach

LaGrange College ’s head women’s basketball and volleyball coach. Britsky has accepted the position of head women’s basketball coach at Georgia Southwestern University, an NCAA Division II school in Americus, Ga.

Britsky has been at LaGrange since 1997. She has been the head women’s basketball coach for the past eight years, since the program was restarted in 1999. The Panthers were 15-12 this past season and advanced to the semifinals of the Great South Athletic Conference (GSAC) Championship Tournament.

The Panthers were 17-11 during the 2001-02 season and played in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Tournament. Britsky had an overall record of 85-126. Under Britsky, the Panthers had 10 all-conference players, five all-freshman players and a freshman player of the year in the conference. She was named the GSAC Coach of the Year this past season and in 2002.

Britsky was the head coach of volleyball for 10 years. She leaves with 193 career wins, the most by any coach in the program’s history. Her overall record is 193-150. The Panthers were 12-17 in 2006. In the four years prior to last season, the Panthers had four straight 20+ win seasons, played in three USCAA national tournaments and were runner-ups in the GSAC three times.

Her first team in 1997 set a school record with 29 wins. The Panthers have produced three All-Americans, seven all-region players, a region player of the year, a three-time region setter of the year, 18 all-conference players and two conference players of the year.

Britsky is a 1993 graduate of LaGrange College. She played both volleyball and softball while earning a degree in history. She has also served as head softball coach, sports information director, senior women’s administrator and compliance director for LaGrange.
