GSAC women's soccer semifinals set

The semifinals for the GSAC Women's Soccer Championship Tournament are set after completion of first round games. #2 Spelman, #3 Agnes Scott and #5 LaGrange advanced to Friday's semifinals at Piedmont College.

Spelman (10-6-1) blanked #7 Wesleyan 7-0 in Decatur, Ga. The Jaguars got two goals each from Jessica Carney and Ashley Hamilton. Spelman led 6-0 at halftime and outshot the Pioneers (1-16) 51-0 in the game. Emily Epperson had 24 saves for the Pioneers.

Agnes Scott (11-6-1) got two goals each from Aimee Kahn-Foss and Erica Eiring in beating #6 Huntingdon (4-12-1) 5-0 in Decatur, Ga. Jessica Jones had six saves in goal for the Scotties. Huntingdon's Bethany Bush had 24 saves in goal. Agnes Scott outshot Huntingdon 27-8 in the game.

Satomi Omae scored two goals, including the game with winner with a minute left, to lift LaGrange (6-9-1) past #4 Piedmont (5-11) in Demorest, Ga. After a scoreless first half, Omae scored her first goal to put the Panthers up 1-0. Lauren Dodd tied the game for Piedmont with a goal a minute after Omae's goal. Omae got the game winner in the 89th minute.

#2 Spelman vs. #3 Agnes Scott, 3 p.m.

Championship, Saturday, Nov. 3 (at Piedmont College)
Semifinal winners, 1 p.m.
