Maryville's Saxe takes first 2007-08 player of the week honors
Maryville College's Katie Saxe is the GSAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 18. The senior post player led the Lady Scots to the Eastern Mennonite University Tournament title and was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.

Saxe averaged 15.5 points and 15 rebounds per game in the tournament, making 13-of-21 shots from the field. She had the game-winning basket in the overtime win over tournament host Eastern Mennonite in the championship game. Saxe finished the game with 16 points and 18 rebounds. She had 15 points and 12 rebounds in the tournament opener against Stockton
