GSAC announces 2007 volleyball conference awards
The Great South Athletic Conference announces its 2007 volleyball conference awards.
Maryville College sunior outside hitter Jennifer Seivers is the GSAC Player of the Year for the second straight year. Seivers leads the Lady Scots and the GSAC with 384 kills. She averages 3.88 kills per game and has a .240 hitting percentage.
Outside hitter Kalin DeMarrais of Piedmont College is the Freshman of the Year. DeMarrais is third in the GSAC with a .258 hitting percentage. She has 220 kills this season, averaging 2.5 kills per game with 236 digs.
Senior Farren Ancar of Huntingdon is the GSAC Libero of the Year. She led the Lady Hawks and the GSAC with 504 digs this season.
Piedmont's Katie O'Brien is the GSAC Coach of the Year.
Maryville College led the 12-player all-conference team with four selections. Piedmont had three selections, while Huntingdon had two.
