Maryville's Bowers named men's basketball player of the week
Maryville College's Alex Bowers is the GSAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 3. Bowers led the Fighting Scots past Rust College in their only game of the week.

The senior guard scored 19 points in the 98-45 win. In just 21 minutes of play, Bowers was 7-of-9 from the field. He totals included 5-of-7 shooting from 3-point range. Bowers also had seven assists, four rebounds, two steals and a block. He is averaging 21.7 points per game this season, while shooting better than 50 percent from the field and from 3-point range.
