Maryville's Hernandez named men's basketball player of the week
Maryville College's Greg Hernandez is the GSAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 16. Hernandez led the Fighting Scots to a 88-75 win over Methodist in their only game last week.

The sophomore post player recorded his first career double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Both the totals were career highs for Hernandez. He hit 7-of-8 shots from the field and 3-of-4 free throws. Hernandez also had two assists and a blocked shot.
