First baseball player of the week awards announced
The GSAC announced the first Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week awards for baseball for the week ending Feb. 10. LaGrange senior outfielder Seth Tucker is the Player of the Week. Huntingdon's Brent Nichols and Josh Suchocki were the Pitchers of the Week.

Tucker batted .412 in four games last week. He was 7-for-17 at the plate with two home runs, four doubles and six RBIs. Tucker hit both home runs and had five RBIs in the season opener against Oglethorpe. The home runs were the first of Tuckers' collegiate career.

Nichols and Suchocki combined to throw a no-hitter against Greensboro. Nichols, senior, started the game, going five innings. He walked six and struck out three. Suchocki, a junior, pitched the final two innings, allowing a walk and striking out three. It was the second no-hitter for Nichols, who threw one against Fisk in 2006.
