Nehf, Shelton take baseball player of the week awards
The GSAC announced the Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week awards for baseball for the week ending Feb. 17. Maryville senior outfielder Nathan Nehf is the Player of the Week. Piedmont's Spencer Shelton is the Pitcher of the Week.

Nehf batted .500 in three games, going 7-for-14 at the plate. He had two home runs, four RBIs, scored three runs and did not commit an error in the field. In five games this season, Nehf is batting .524 and has 11 hits.

Shelton allowed only one earned run in a 5-3 win over N.C. Wesleyan. The sophomore surrendered three runs and six hits in seven innings to get his first win of the season. Shelton struck out five and walked only two.
