Piedmont sweeps baseball player of the week awards
The GSAC announced the Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week awards for baseball for the week ending Feb. 24. Piedmont College swept the awards. Sophomore catcher Corey Lindsey is the Player of the Week. Tom Dimitroff is the Pitcher of the Week. The pair helped the Lions to a perfect 4-0 record last week.

Lindsey batted .615 in the four games. He was 8-for-13 with two doubles and five RBIs. Lindsey also scored seven runs and was a perfect 5-for-5 in stolen bases. He is batting .500 on the season.

Dimitroff pitched in relief in all four games last week, picking up a win and a save. He allowed only two earned runs in 9-1/3 innings. Dimitroff struck out eight and opponents hit only .194 against him. The senior is 3-0 with three saves and a 2.45 ERA this season.
