Piedmont women, Maryville men take GSAC basketball championships
DEMOREST, Ga. - The top-seeded Piedmont College women took their second straight GSAC championship with an 89-73 win over Maryville College on Saturday at the Johnny Mize Athletic Center. The Lady Lions (24-3) will receive the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament for the second straight year.
In the men's game, top-seeded Maryville College won its sixth GSAC championship with a 90-79 win over second-seeded Piedmont College. The Fighting Scots (24-2) now wait on a possible at-large NCAA tournament bid.
