Day, Daniel take softball player of the week awards
The GSAC announced the Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week awards for softball for the week ending March 16. LaGrange's Amanda Daniel is the Pitcher of the Week. Piedmont's Megan Day is the Player of the Week.

Daniel, a junior, pitched in six of the Panthers' eight games. She had a 3-2 record and a 2.17 earned run average. Daniel started three games and had two complete games. She struck out 12 in 29 innings of work.

Day helped lead the Lady Lions to a 6-2 record last week. She batted .433 with nine runs scored and five RBIs. Day was 13-for-30 at the plate and had two three-hit games and two two-hit games.
