Piedmont ranked 22nd in new D3baseball.com poll
Piedmont College entered the D3baseball.com national poll this week at 22nd. The Lions (11-3) won three straight over the weekend, including two wins over previously 10th-ranked Marietta.
The Lions have been led by sophomore Spencer Shelton and senior Tom Dimitroff. Shelton (2-0), the GSAC Pitcher of the Week for the week ending March 2, beat Marietta 6-1 on Saturday. Dimitroff (4-1) picked up a win in a 6-5 comeback win over Marietta on Sunday.
At the plate, catcher sophomore catcher Corey Lindsay is leading the team with a .484 average. Matt Devito and Andy House each have at team-leading 10 RBIs.
The Lions put their ranking on the line as they travel to Hampden-Sydney on March 6.
