Piedmont sweeps softball player of the week awards
The GSAC announced the Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week awards for softball for the week ending March 2. Piedmont swept the awards. B.J. Cofer is the Pitcher of the Week. Senior outfielder Megan Day is the Player of the Week.

Cofer, a freshman, was 2-0 for the week with wins over Millsaps and Southern Wesleyan. She pitched 13 innings, allowed three earned runs and had eight strikouts. Opponents batted only .184 against her.

Day batted .600 in the four games last week. She was 9-for-15 at the plate, scored five runs and had six stolen bases. Day had three hits in two games and two hits in another.
