GSAC announces softball player of the week awards
The GSAC announced the Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week awards for softball for the weeks ending April 6 and 13.

For the week ending April 6
Co-Players of the Week- Felicia Gulledge and Shannon Rozof of Huntingdon - Gulledge picked up a pair of hits in a doubleheader against nationally-ranked Emory, including a two-run double. Gulledge also assisted on six putouts, without committing an error at third base.

Rozof finished the opening game of the twin bill with Emory 2-for-4 with a run batted in and a run scored. Rozof kept a two-out rally going with her fifth double of the season, before later scoring on the Gulledge double. She also posted four putouts and nine assists without committing an error at shortstop.

Pitcher of the Week- Kayla Bratcher, Huntingdon - Bratcher tossed a four-hitter, but was saddled with the loss against Emory. She allowed three runs, only one of which was earned, in 8 1/3 innings, as the Lady Hawks fell in the ninth inning.

For the week ending April 13
Player of the Week - Valeree Williams, LaGrange -The sophomore shortstop hit .550 (11-for-20) on the week to help the Panthers to a 5-1 mark. Against Spelman, she went a combined 5-for-6 in the doubleheader with two runs batted in. Against Maryville on Saturday, she knocked in three runs to help LaGrange to the doubleheader sweep.

Pitcher of the Week - B.J. Cofer, Piedmont - The freshman went 2-0 on the week to lead Piedmont to a 5-1 record. She pitched two complete games in defeating LaGrange, which was a shutout, on Thursday and Huntingdon on Saturday. For the week, she threw 14 innings and allowed just one earned run.
