Piedmont's Sparger named volleyball player of the week
Senior libero Jill Sparger of Piedmont is the volleyball player of the week for the week ending Sept. 9. Sparger led the Lady Lions (7-1) to the championship of the Greensboro Alumni Invitational and a perfect 4-0 record in the tournament. In 13 games, Sparger had seven service aces, six assists and 52 digs. For her play, she was named the most valuable player for the tournament.
