Maryville's Seivers first volleyball player of the week
Jennifer Seivers of Maryville was selected as the first GSAC volleyball player of the week for the 2007 season for the week ending Sept. 2. Seivers led the Lady Scots to a second place finish at the Cougar Classic hosted by Averett University in Danville, Va.
The senior outside hitter had 90 kills in the Lady Scots' five matches. She had a .286 hitting percentage, along with 12 service aces 37 digs and six blocks. Seivers had 15 or more kills in four of the five matches. She had 27 kills in a losing effort in the championship match against 14th-ranked Austin. Seivers was named to the all-tournament team.
