Natalie Munday, a senior 6’0” forward for the Maryville College women’s basketball team, has been named a 2008-09 All-American performer by D3Hoops.com. She is a fourth team honoree, ranking as one of the top 20 players within the NCAA Division III.

The Knoxville, Tennessee native was named the Great South Athletic Conference Player of the Year while leading the league with her 16.5 points a game. After her Scots (19-9) claimed their sixth Great South Conference title, the Knoxville Farragut High School graduate was named the Tournament MVP. Her 27 and 21 point performances elevated MC to earn the GSAC’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. The 2008-09 NCAA appearance was the 16th in school history for the women’s basketball program and MC’s first since 2005-06, Munday’s freshman year.

Munday is the sixth All-American in the Maryville women’s basketball program, the first since Haley Smith in 2001.

Natalie posted ten, twenty-plus point performance on the season as well as a pair of double-doubles. She shot 53% from the field and displayed her range and shooting touch by going 33-81 (41%) from beyond the arc. She also paced the Scots with her 5.9 rebounds a game.
